WIND DAMAGE RESTORATION
Straight-line winds, derechos, and thunderstorm gusts cause more structural damage than they appear. Phase III responds immediately, documents everything your adjuster will miss, and manages your claim from first call through final rebuild.

What We Do
Phase III Construction handles every phase of wind damage restoration — from same-day emergency stabilization through complete licensed rebuild. Michigan wind events move fast: straight-line gusts from thunderstorms, derechos with 70+ mph winds, and severe storm blowdowns cause roof lift, structural failure, fallen tree impacts, and interior water intrusion within minutes. The faster you respond, the less total damage your property takes.
Our team is on call 24/7. We secure your property immediately, document every detail of the damage before anything is touched, and build the strongest possible insurance claim on your behalf. Wind damage is frequently underscoped by adjusters — we know where the gaps are, and we close them.
Our Process
Emergency Response & Stabilization
We respond 24/7 with tarps, plywood, and board-up crews. Every open penetration — blown roof sections, failed windows, structural breaches from fallen trees — gets secured before weather worsens. Emergency response costs are documented from the first hour and submitted as part of your insurance claim.
Phase III Does:
We coordinate emergency response alongside your claim filing — not after. Tree removal subcontractors, debris clearing, and structural shoring are organized in parallel so your property is protected and documented simultaneously. Emergency mitigation that is not documented is often denied by insurers. Ours is always documented.
Full Property Inspection
Wind damage is not limited to what is visible from the ground. We systematically inspect every surface: roof system (lifted sections, blown-off shingles, exposed decking), fascia, soffit, gutters, siding, windows, doors, screens, satellite dishes, HVAC equipment, and any structural framing impacted by fallen trees or wind loading. Every impacted component is photographed and measured.
Phase III Does:
Adjusters commonly assess wind claims in under 30 minutes and miss attic structural damage, lifted decking, and secondary water intrusion paths. Our inspection is methodical and thorough — we identify every damaged component, including those that will cause future problems if not documented and replaced now. A missed item today is a denied supplement tomorrow.
Damage Documentation Package
We produce a complete wind damage report: date-stamped photography of every impacted surface, written damage narrative, wind direction and event data (NOAA records), and a full Xactimate estimate in the same format your insurance company uses internally. Our documentation is built to withstand challenge at every level of the claim process.
Phase III Does:
We pull NOAA weather event records for your exact location and date — verified wind speed, storm path, and event classification. This third-party data anchors our claim and makes it extremely difficult for an insurer to dispute that a covered wind event caused the damage. Documentation that can be questioned will be questioned. Ours cannot be.
Insurance Estimate Review
The first adjuster estimate on a wind damage claim routinely understates the true scope. Common misses: partial roof replacement approved when full replacement is warranted, fascia and soffit excluded, screens and satellite equipment overlooked, interior water damage underscoped, and Ordinance & Law upgrades denied. We review every line item and document every discrepancy.
Phase III Does:
We prepare a formal written rebuttal for every disputed item — backed by manufacturer matching specifications, Michigan building code requirements, and photographic evidence. This rebuttal becomes part of your claim file and creates a documented paper trail that makes it very difficult for the insurer to sustain an underpayment position. The first estimate is rarely the final number.
Supplement Filing
We submit a comprehensive supplement identifying every missed item from the adjuster’s initial scope. On wind claims, our supplements routinely recover 25–50% above the initial offer. We track every insurer response and follow up in writing until every approved item is reflected in your settlement check. You do not need to manage this process — we do.
Phase III Does:
Supplement filing is a normal, expected part of most wind damage claims. Insurance companies count on homeowners accepting the first number. Phase III does not. We treat the initial estimate as the starting point and work systematically until your settlement reflects the actual scope of damage. Every missed line item we recover is money that stays in your pocket.
Licensed Rebuild & Restoration
With Michigan GC License 262000615, Kyle Hagerty oversees the complete rebuild — roofing, siding, fascia, soffit, structural framing, windows, interior finishes, and all affected systems. All permits pulled, all inspections passed. Code upgrades required by the rebuild are documented and included in your Ordinance & Law claim. One contractor handles everything through final sign-off.
Phase III Does:
We manage every trade and every timeline — no subcontractor coordination falls on you. Proper permitting protects your investment, ensures the work passes final inspection, and provides documentation that your home was rebuilt to current Michigan building code. We do not sign off until you are completely satisfied with the result.
